Make-up haul: MAC & Clinique

I got my recent MAC order in the mail today and was so excited. Usually, I buy one thing at a time from MAC, and I only own a handful of eyeshadows, MSF natural, Painterly Paint Pot, a few glosses, and a blush. When I type it out, it seems like a fair amount of products, but I think that anyone who loves make-up like I do and purchases it on a regular basis has a much larger MAC collection than me. Plus it was ultra-exciting because I got a few items I've been lusting after for a long time!

All of my MAC goodies!

I think the thing I've been wanting the longest is the 217 blending brush. I am so excited to try this baby out!

Two Cremesheen Lipsticks in Creme D' Nude (pale muted peach beige) & Shy Girl (creamy neutral coral beige)

Shy Girl Swatch

Blacktrack Fluidline Eyeliner Gel

Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Springsheen, a peachy color with pearl (reminds me a lot of NARS Oragasm, peachy-pink with gold)

Swatch of Springsheen

Yesterday, I got the following offer from Clinique in the mail:

The flash makes it a little hard to read, but it's a Clinique VIP Card for a free FULL-SIZE Super City Block Oil-free Daily Face Protector SPF with any purchase! I didn't want to chance supplies running out before I snagged mine, so of course I ran to the mall and got it!
I mean, you really can't beat free! I love that it's oil-free and it contains antioxidants to help protect skin. It suggests using it as an invisible under make-up primer, so I can't wait to see how it works!

To get my free sunscreen I purchased the the Redness Solutions Make-up SPF 15 with probiotic technology in shade 03 Calming Ivory
I also got sample-sized 3 freebies!

-Turnround Concentrate Visble Skin Renewer
-Take the Day Off Make-up Remover
-Soft-pressed Powder Blusher in New Clover

New Clover (a soft violet)
Those are my goodies! This the most exciting haul I've done yet, I am thrilled with every product and can't wait to try them out! Tell me if you'd like reviews on anything or if you own any of these items & your opinions on them!

The Versatile Blogger Award!

Hello again :) I hope this week is going well for you! I have been super busy, but my week has been really good overall. Today's post is super exciting: The Versatile Blogger Award!

Guidelines:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them in your post.

2. Tell us 7 things about yourself.

3. Award recently discovered new bloggers.

4. Contact the bloggers and let them know they've received the award(s).

Thank you so much Emily at Fabulous Finds! I am so flattered. You have made my day :)

7 Things About Me:
1) I am the pickiest eater I have ever met. Chances are, I don't like it. And I especially loathe onions!
2) I love kitty cats and have two precious ones, Thor and Wolfie.
Thor

 Wolfie
3) I have a bone displaysia in my hands and feet called brachydactly, which basically means short fingers and toes. It's a genetic disorder. My hands and feet are tiny, hence why I wear size 3 shoes! Megan Fox has something similar with her thumb, and I love that about her. It's not as noticable as mine but it makes me think, so what, my fingers are tiny. I am still beautiful and it cannot hinder me.

4) I love, love, love roller skating.
5) I also love reading but I don't get to read often while I'm in school because there's already so much assigned reading to do.
6) I am an extreme procrastinator and have pulled many all-nighters in college because of it.
7) I have the best grandparents on the planet. Truly, I am so lucky and not a day goes by that I am not thankful for having them in my life. They have shaped who I am as a person so much.

I've awarded the Versatile Blogger Award to:

April Fool's Day Sushi!

I made April Fool's Day "Sushi" out of rice krispy treats, fruit roll-ups, icing, coconut, and assorted candy. Looks quite a bit like real sushi, huh? Make these on April Fool's Day to trick some of your friends!
You'll need:
Rice Krispies Treats (pre-made or you can make them yourself, either way!

Swedish Fish Assoretd Candy

Haribo Raspberries and Licorice Allsorts (I got these in the Wal-Mart candy aisle)

Fruit rolls. I bough this brand because the Fruit Roll Ups brand were bright red. This is an all-natural brand I found at Kroger in their organic food section. They are a dark burgundy color, which looks a lot better than the bright red would have, in my opinion.

Sweetened coconut flakes

Vanilla Icing

Green and orange starburst (from the Tropical Fruit and Summer Fruit packs)

The sushi is really easy to make! Start by cutting out a circle of a rice krispy treat. I used a lid of my a salt shaker, but you can free lance it or use any lid/circular object.
Now wrap the fruit roll up around the circle.

Ice with vanilla frosting and gently push coconut flakes into the icing.

And now top with licorice candy or raspberry candy! I cut the candy to the size I wanted. Here's the finished product!

I also made square ones for the Swedish fish. Just cut a small rectangle out from your rice krispy treat, ice, cover with coconut, and top with a fish. Cut the fruit roll into a thin strip to wrap around it.
To make the wasabi and ginger, heat startburst in the microwave for 10 seconds. Mold the green (wasabi) into a ball, and flatten the orange (ginger) and fold it back onto itself three times, staggering the folds.

Close up of the raspberry and licorice candy toppings!
Another sushi platter I made!

I hope you enjoyed this recipe! Are you going to try it for April Fool's Day?

OOTD + Hard Candy Haul

Hello again! Today was cold and overcast in East Tennessee, so I thought I'd bust out a thick scarf and cardigan one last time before spring weather is here to stay.
This is how the whole outfit looks (thanks Dad for being my photographer!)

Oatmeal cardigan with a cream-colored lace cami underneath (both from Kohl's a while back)
Scarf with fringe from Forever21

Oversized brown leather hobo bag, Belk

Dark wash whiskered skinny jeans, Bullhead brand from PacSun
Cupcake Couture (a children's brand, they are size three!) brown studded flats, Shoe Show
This picture makes it apparent how short my legs are! Haha.

I didn't spend long on my make-up.
Cat eye with Clinique black gel liner
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
Naked eyeshadow on lids, Buck in the crease, both from the Urban Decay Naked Palette
Estee Lauder Double Wear eye liner in black on water line
L'Oreal Voluminuous Carbon Black Macara

I wore my hair in a high messy bun. Earrings from Target.

And now for the haul! I got two things from the Hard Candy cosmetic line at Wal-mart. I bought the blush a few weeks ago.

Blush in "Living Doll"
It is such a pretty pinky-purple that leaves a dewey sheen to the cheeks. I love the peach marbling throughout it. $6.00 at Wal-mart.

Lipstick in 200 Fire Alarm (this was on my wishlist! yay!)
I tried this on immediately when I got back in my car in the parking lot, and I was so surprised at how creamy it is! Very pleased. This was $6.00 as well.

I hope you enjoyed my outfit of the day & little haul! How was your Monday?

Mom's new bag! Dooney & Bourke

So I've finally convinced my mom to get a designer hand bag! She always buys cheap ones and they fall apart in just a few months, so she has to buy a new one...well, she's broken the cycle and bought one that is high quality and well made, and should last for years! She wears navy pants to work every day, so she wanted a blue/navy purse to match. I helped her pick this out on dooneyandbourke.com. It was originally $225, but she got it on sale for around $175! 50 bucks off for a great bag...can't beat it!
North/South Collins 1975 Signature Bag in Cobalt

http://www.dooney.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=49019
It's sturdy and a material that you can just wipe off with a wet cloth (Mom is all about practicality.) It's got tons of pockets for all her stuff she totes around with her. While it's not something I would wear, it's perfect for her.
She also ordered the matching checkbook organizer wallet, also on sale from $175 down to $130! She just ordered it today so the only pics I have is from the website (sorry its small and blurry!)
I personally prefer Coach for my handbags, but I remember in middle school I LOVED the Dooney & Bourke "It" bags! Do you remember those? I had at least 3. They looked like this:
Did you own one of those? :)

Unexpected Obsession: Wet n' Wild

When you think of the brand Wet n'Wild, you may think of low quality, cheap drugstore make-up fit for 8 years old to play dress up with, but not to wear....and you used to be right, but Wet n' Wild has revamped their cosmetic line, substantially increasing the quality and prodcuct range, but keeping the low price tag. I kept seeing tons of rave reviews of the new Color Icon Palettes on YouTube, so I finally thought what the heck, I'll spend the 5 bucks and try it for myself....WOW. These eye shadows are awesome. They are so highly pigmented, more so than MAC! They are smooth and very blendable, and the palette I got, number 246 "Greed," came with 6 shadows (3 matte, 3 with shimmer) for around 5 bucks at Wal-greens. I am so pleased. My favorite part is that this palette line contains soooo many MAC dupes!
The Greed Palette:

The matte cream is a dupe for MAC's Brule
The matte black is a dupe for MAC's Carbon
The shimmery peach is a dupe for MAC'S Gleam
The shimmery black is a dupe for MAC's Black Tied

I also bought 2 other Wet n' Wild Palettes,  737 "Blue Had Me at Hello" & 738 "Comfort Zone."
Blue Had Me At Hello

These colors are so pretty, and INSANELY pigmented for $4.99 per palette. I am ecstatic. And these two palettes offer MAC dupes as well:
The Silver from the Blue palette is a dupe for Electra
The top left color on the Blue palette, a light shimmery silver, is a dupe for Crystal Avalance
The matte black is Carbon, shimmery black Black Tied

Comfort Zone Dupes:
Left Row--Photo Realism, Texture, Woodwinked, & Twinks
Right Row---Retrospeck, Sumptious Olive, Greensmoke, & Club

Please, please go pick these up! They are worth every penny. I also picked up 2 lipsticks in 901B Think Pink & 903C Just Peachy. Once again, I'm very pleased as they are very pigmented and smooth. I don't remember how much they cost but I'd say around 2-3 dollars a peice. I'm not sure if they are colors I will wear often, but they are phenomenal for the price and quality.

Have you tried any of the new Wet n' Wild products? If so, what do you think? Or are you going to try them soon? I'm excited to hear your opinion, I'm sure you're going to loooove them!
