Wondering what to get your man this Valentine's Day? Men can be so hard to shop for! I was searching around the net trying to find the perfect gift for my fiancée and came across some great ideas to share with you all. Some of them I've even purchased for Cory for previous Valentine's or anniversaries. :)
Some tips before you get started:
1.) I like to give romantic, sentimental gifts on Valentine's Day. If you are more of a practical gift giver, or your guy isn't into the mushy gushy romantic stuff, I suggest giving him something according to his interests (music, sports paraphernalia, a DVD of a movie he likes, a video game, etc.).
2.) Set a budget. Don't go overboard if you've just started dating, and if you've been together a while, don't spend hundreds of dollars on a gift. A thoughtful gift doesn't have to be expensive.
The gifts!
1. A mix CD. This is really inexpensive and thoughtful. You can make of mix of his favorite songs or put some romantic music on it. And remember to decorate the CD with a Sharpie :) I always love to do that!
2.) Fix him dinner. This is much more personal than simply going out for dinner, and probably cheaper too. Fix him his favorite meal and watch a DVD afterwards for an intimate Valentine's Day in.
3.) Silky boxers. Men love silky boxers (at least mine does) and they have ones with cute designs around Valentine's Day. It's a little bit of a sexy gift too ;)
Or get personalized ones!
4.) A framed picture of you two. Buy a nice frame (you can even get nice, inexpensive ones from
dollar stores) or something unique. I made a picture cube (got the cube frame at Walmart) and Cory loves it.
5.) Photo gifts from Shutterfly.com. I am obsessed with Shutterfly, to put it lightly. I made Cory a photo book of our anniversary and it turned out so cute! It's something that he can hold onto for a long time, and if we ever have kids he can pull it off the book shelf and show it to them. It was around $30 dollars, including shipping, so they're a little more than some gifts but not too expensive. They take quite a bit of time to make, something that he'll appreciate.

6.) Okay, so here comes the REALLY cheesy stuff :D "I'm nuts about you" keyring and bottle.
Isn't this cute?? It's a keychain that's made of nuts and bolts---the kind you use in construction---and a red heart shaped bottle filled with peanuts! He can wear the keychain and still look manly. Only you two will know what it means!
7.) The key to my heart. Show him that only he has the key to unlock your heart. I got this for Cory two Valentine's Days ago.
8.) Love tokens. They have assorted sayings, such as "Good for one hug," Good for one massage," and "Good for one kiss" etc. Redeemable at any time ;)
9.) Frog Prince Charming.
This sterling silver frog wears a crown fit for a prince. Choose carefully: As soon as your Prince Charming sees the box with the words, "you are my prince," written on it, he'll know he's finally won you over.
10.) Love fortune cookie. Yes, I got Cory one of these too! It's a silver fortune cookie in its own little takeout box. You personalize the fortune. I think it's too cute.

11.) Message in a bottle. These are expensive (most of them are about $100) but very cute. Personalize your own message inside. If you are willing to put in a lot of time, I think it would be so creative to make a Valetine's Day Treasure Hunt with instructions inside the bottle! And of course, a much, MUCH cheaper alternative is to go to a craft store and buy the bottle and pretty paper and make your own message in a bottle/treasure hunt.

12.)Love Notes in a Jar. Tell him all the reasons why he's wonderful. He can read them all at once or one a day or week. This is also one that you can easily make yourself by simply buying a jar, filler of your choice, and paper to make the reasons.
